Sunderland and QPR play out a dismal draw

Well, I had thought before the match that Sky Sports might just have regretted not choosing the Sunderland vs Queens Park Rangers for their Tuesday night game. How wrong I could be, and that was with the other game being, by all accounts, a dire 1-0 home win for Aston Villa against Reading. At least for there to have been a goal in that game, there must have been a clear cut chance. In this game there were none.

Does politics have a place in football?

On Remembrance Sunday, a photo popped up on my Facebook feed of Sir John Madejski laying a wreath at the Madejski Stadium before Reading’s 0-0 draw with Norwich City on Saturday. This photograph really struck a chord with me; there has been so much hate and negativity in football at the moment that it was refreshing to see this sign of respect from such a great man. I decided to share this sentiment with my fellow writers and actually discovered some of them did not share my views and went so far as to say politics doesn’t have a place in football.
